I saw this topic another forum and thought it?d be interesting to hear what all us fly guys and gals are hoping to accomplish in fishing this upcoming year. I know that there?s snow on the ground, but I?m already working on improving my tying and my casting. (I don't want to buy any flies this year.) I also want to learn to double haul. As far as fishing goes, I hope to catch a striper over 30# on the fly, and an albie from the beach and another from the boat, and to catch a few keeper fluke on the fly this year too. Other than that I hope to have the discipline to leave the conventional and spinning gear at home so that I use the fly rod a lot more.

What does everyone else hope to accomplish?

One goal - to catch a tuner on the fly rod.

Good question. Mine is to have more quality time to spend flying. Ron

Plain and simple. More time on the water.

I was very happy with my season last year. I hope it is just as good. I would like to see baitfish earlier and cleaner water in the fall.
A couple of big stripers, and weakies like last year and I will be happy.

Going to fish Torch Key this month. My first time there so I will be happy to catch anything that swims, with no real expectations, so what ever I get will be a bonus.

Other than the normal suspects (Striper, Weakie, Albie, and Bluefish) what do you all target in the bays and from the banks? Does anyone target anything else with the flyrod?

Fluke, if conditions and the area are right.
