Flatwing,

I just got back from MV yesterday.

Have you been there before? Are you fishing from boat or shore?

aubv,

I have been going every year for the last 10 years. Mostly fishing from shore, but I do have access to a boat. How did you do? Last year we hammered fish from aruddas down to metcalfs all the way across norton point. It was about 20 degrees colder last year at this time and everything was way off, especially the north shore from menemsha to mokinikey. The forecast looks great for next week and we have unreal evening tides. Can't wait!! I'll post the results.

Flatwing,

I fished the C&R, easterly winds made for a tough night of fishing-only managed one 9" Striper.

Fished bait by boat a couple of days later and caught fish to 35 lb. The fish where aggressive. If you have access to a boat I'd suggest going to one of the rips in Vineyard sound, we where about a mile off Paul Pt. Anchor up stream of the rip and drift your fly into the rip. You will see Bass swimming up and down the rip and you can watch as they hit your fly. Almost nonstop action. They where chasing squid. I'll be up again next week.
