Does anyone know if stripers tend to stage any fall blitzes along the western shores of the Chesapeake like they do along the east coast?
I live about 20 miles from Annapolis (grew up in Long Branch) and would love to see if there is any top water or blitzing action that I can get myself into down here.
I'm thinking I might have to drive the 3 hours back to LB to cash in on some of the great fall action, but wanted to float this question by the board.
Thanks,
Dave

The chessy is stil recovering from all the water/debri coming down the susky. The upper bay rockfish tourney had some nice fish. The winner $15000 caught his in the chester river. the eastern shore seems to be picking up well but I doubt you'll see the big ones that the del bay gets. The schools that are around the upper flats have been hitting top water plastics lately. Most fish decent. Keepers (which are 18" I beleive) are to be found in fairly decent numbers. Not sure about the western shore. I would think the same

Good to know. Thanks, Wetdream. Do you do much fishing in MD waters? Most of my fishing is done back in NJ, but since I actually live down here in MD, I figure it might be worth poking around to see if I can find any bass and blues.

I live ten minutes north from the upper flats but don't fish it. I hate C&R in the spring when the bigs ones show up and the the dam is ususally dumping lots o water. Its worth an hrs drive to fortescue area for me to fish the del bay where I keep my boat in a slip. Now I do crab the chessy!! The only fishing I actually do in MD is a pond next to my house that holds 5 bl bass. I guess the only real reason is the fees and no boat to do it properly over on the chessy. My crab boat isn't made fer fishin and if you saw it you'd be embarresed to fish out of it. :D
I live in Rising Sun cecil county
