My son and I fished Sunday evening around the mouth of the Cold Springs inlet. Ran out near the cans and caught alot of croakers and some small weakfish(All went back to grow). Saw the birds working back toward the rock pile.So we gave it a try. We had some fun getting our Fin-s ripped in half. Getting tired, we decided to call it a night. On the way back to the marina, we decided to take a ride, so we made a right instead of a left. We saw a few fish breaking water and decided to give it a try. We were throwing some small Fin-s. The first couple of fish were small blues and then BAM. We caught two small Stripers back to back-17" and 18". They were small, but that's OK. We both took each others pictures holding the fish and back to the marina we went. Once we got back to the dock,we saw CapeMayRay on the way out.Hopefully he had some good luck. :D All in all, not a bad night.

Thanks Skip,

The name almost got me kicked out of the house. I think she realized that by kicking me out, I would only fish more. So, she kept me and I kept the name... :D
It won't be long until the big boys are thick...Can't wait.

Volk, good to see you had a good time with your son. He looked pretty excited and that is the way it should be. It is the catching that is fun and he will appreciate the bigger ones as he gets them. Since I prefer to get catch most of my fish on the fly, I post my reports in the fly section. Last night after I saw you the wind really piped up. Got two slot bass and a couple of small blues on popping plugs and never used the fly rod at all. Along with the wind, it got cold. Ended up with hooded sweatshirt and foul wether gear. The wind was brutal.

Got out tonight. Wind died right around sunset and it was a beautiful night. Had three on the fly and 4 on popping plugs. All small 16 to 23 inches and was back at the dock by 9:00.
