Fall Striper Run - When?

When would you guys say the Fall striper run starts in earnest in South Jersey? I will probably only be able to take one day this year to do some striper fishing (2 little kids, busy at work, etc?) so I wanted to maximize my potential to do well. I won?t be taking the boat so I?ll probably fish from the beach, jetty or inlet. Perhaps I?ll look into a party boat. Does the first week of November sound about right? Maybe a couple of weeks later?

Scott - up north a guy I go with has been into fish for at least two weeks. It shouldnt be much longer. My guess is last week of Oct should be on fire.

One trip? Your best bet is to get on one of the open boat trips advertised right here on the Barn. These guys are fishing every day and they will be on the meat!! First week in November should be prime.

Seaswirl - I'm game for that.

I think I will be taking off a day from work and going during the week. I want to make it easy on the wife so I'm going with a day that the kids are at the sitter and my wife is at work. Open boat charter is also a possibility.

I did. I'm going to keep an eye on it in the upcoming weeks and see when things are hot. Probably in the first two weeks of November.
