I'm just getting into using braided line; I bought some PP 30 lb. Since it's so expensive I was thinking of having a 100 yards or so of mono as backing and attaching the PP to that so I'd have 250 yards and the line would spool out further.
And what do you like to use to cut this stuff, I know nail clippers don't work so well?

I use a sharp knife. I also use mono as backing, it is a good idea because sometimes if you just have a braid on it will slip on the spool. I have been using Spiderwire Stealth and like it very much.

Of wire cutters or dykes work the best for me.

Electrician scissors work well. Gotta hve a base of mono or the PP could slip on the spool. At best your looking for about a 100 yard top shot of PP.

the cheapest, easiest, safest, thing I found was a pair of the round point kids scissors, I try to find the Fiskars brands, about $2.00 a pair... stick them in your pockets without cutting your Cahones off... plus you can get them in Hi-Vis colors so they're easy to find if you drop them... :D
