I have read just about every thing recently posted (even the banter). Would this be a bad weekend for me to take that 3+ hour drive and give it shot or is the latest storm predicted to come up the coast a summon to wait another week or two? How much do these storms effect the SB run down the coast?

You could probably fit in an outing on Saturday maybe even Sunday if the Storm holds off a bit but I wouldn't plan on it. You should be ok for Saturday if you don't mind a little showers here and there. If you want to make a weekend out of it shoot for next weekend.

We do not want to see a pattern of Storm after Storm after Storm into November then have it get brutally cold.. That will suck the life out of the in-shore NJ coast as well as the season...
I have seen it happen before...

So,that being said get your time in now if you can by boat or by beach...

Good Luck...

Freshwatergirl,I don,t think Wilma will be a factor this weekend, but the wind and rain will make fishing ruff, some of the best striper fishing happens during months of less than favorable conditions.Last fall and early winter the wind was blowing at least 15kt to 20kt every time we went out,but we had alot of limit days.Do you get seasick? if not ,My advise is to go!I will be out this weekend!good luck and catch a 30lber.
