I want to fish spots but never have. How should I rig them? I was thinking a 5/0 gamagatsu with 25 or 30 fluro. THats as far as I got. Should I let them float free. or put them on the bottom? Inline sinker or fishfinder? Long leader or short? Hook em through the back or through the lips? Expensive bait. I dont want to waste it. THe only place I found a deal has been the Miss Chris Marina. ANy other spots for spots?

you basicly rig them as you do an eel. As far as spots for spots, i fish for them. You can buy the rigs for them, or just make them urself. But i'm not into spending $3 for 1 lowsy spot.

Fishfinder rig or egg sinker with a 6/0 circle hook. Two foot leader is plenty. Hook through the nostrils or through the lower jaw out through the upper jaw. Put it in the holder on clicker and let it eat. Fluro is not really necessary, but I would fish 30 or 40lb leader.

For the Rips i like to use inline sinkers 1 oz. works on most days, but bring a few 2's just incase...a 3 ft 30# leader floro if it makes ya feel better.and a 5/0 octapus style hook ...havent mastered the circle hook !!!
