Anyone Still Catching Live Bait?

Is anyone still catching live spots or did they all leave with the colder water moving in? Are mullet are all gone as well? Haven't seen any lately. No more peanuts around where I am. Just curious when they shut down.

The spot are moving out quick , Insomniac tried some of our local honey holes yesterday and there were none to be found , a friend of mine did fairly well in the area of LBI the other day , its a little late in the season to start collecting baits, the local guys in the area that are selling them for $ 3.00 and up will probably sell out, heck 3 yrs ago there were only a small amount of guys in the Cape May area fishing live spot,now the word is out, fishing them is a lot of fun but you still have to have a feel for the right moment to set the hook on a Bass lightly picking up a bait. Good luck finding Bait.

we caught some nice 4 inch spot hook and line around money island today. plenty of em too.

Bandit, you're right the word is out about live bait and they are moving out quick. Caught a bunch last week but it seems to have shut down (at least for me). Mag, nice job, lived in SJ all my life - never heard of money island! Thanks for the replies.

Casting disaster when you say Herring what type are you refering too. I ask only because if it's the so called "Herring" that are in the LE inlet they are actually Shad, I'm almost certain, if they are another smaller type of Herring I'd be very interested in acquiring some. I have a picture of the Shad but I can't get the jist of how to post it. :rolleyes:
