I do end loop to end loop.
Or use a end loop(mono) to palomar (braid)

 After tying any one of these Great Knots Listed by the fellow "Barner's"...:o Add a few Drops of a product Known as "PRO_SOFT",Bait Glue! This glue is also recommended mostly for repairing splits and ripping tares that occur to soft plastics,as well as when applied to the shank of a worm hook this glue is great for keeping those denser...heavier baits in place on the hook and prevents the plastics from sliding off the shank and or off the hook all together!
Tight Lines!

Man that glue is dangerous! Works too well. Be very very careful with that stuff!

Here's what you need. AKA Uni to Uni knot.

Yup been using 16 Lb Power Pro with that knot on my lightweight flounder set up for the last 5-6 years.

Hooked into about a 50 Lb Cow nose yesterday and landed him with that knot:D took about 10 minutes to whip him. No glue needed.......

I've been using the Albright for quite a while now with no problems.

150 yards of mono for backing ,seems kinda alot. I just use alittle mono backing ,if any... Also the connecting knot from mono to braided can sometimes catch the line, when exposed ,during casting.... Which can be annoying especially, if it were in the middle of the spool. But, I use the uni. That's been my experience.. I also use the uni knot to bring the braided back together, like in case if a wind knot. That might buy you some time till you get down to the mono.

Just my 2 cents worth...I've started using "friction tape" on my spool. I have found it to work great. No backing at all.

Last winter I had problems when out with Capt. Adam when my spool I guess shrunk ??? in the 36* weather and my line would just turn at will on the spool. I had fished all year with that rig without an issue until it got cold.

It worked good for me...let's see how things go as the season goes on.

In that pound range a uni to uni should work fine.

I bought some PowerPro. They suggest uni to uni. It's easy to tie and strong.....

this knot has always been dependable for me, braided/mono.
