little anth,This lake is a gem....Big bass in there for sure and worth a visit. We fished from my small flat bottom from 8-1 on Sun I caught 6 Bass 1-2.5,1-1.5, 4 small ones under a Lb,1 pick. The bro in law got 2 1-almost caught about 3lbs and a dink. These fish were caught on senko (of course)and for me drop shot rig 3"greenw/ sparkles .Most fish being caught in upper section past bridge.....Good luck let us know how you do, JK
Can you recommend any other lakes in that area and have you ever fished that little one on RT 72 Fawn Lake I believe it's called or that lake right on RT9 + RT 72W Manahawkin Lake I think any help would be great Thanks

Great fishing-Ocean acres a 10lb. was caught a few years back-manahawkin lake,Good for Bass...Pickeral-Off of Bay avenue at the xxx book store hang a right and proceed around to 1st stop(Sign)and then hang a left...follow the dirt road back...go easy(Bumps)(holes)(but navigatable)...on the right the 1st body of water is known as the Manahawkin Wildlife Mgt.area.
Fantastic Bass and Large pickeral fishing!Park at the pole and follow the path which seperates the Impoundment from the salt waters.Alot of Lydown structure and the whole bank is lined with it.Be Careful...get some Killies from Tony's Bait and tackle and some super tuff line and alot of insect repellent!
"Going to Catch Em Up!" might be a "Drawdown,"yet the fish will be concentrated along the path in the river bed!
Tight Lines!

I was out on this body of water last month in the yak and came across just a amazing site.Hundreds of Dragon Flies were swarming around and dipping down kissing the water, well the Bass and Pickeral were having a field day actaully going airborn jumping out of the water after them..
I wasn't fishing, but man if you were able to present say a similiar looking flie you would of just had some outstanding action with some really nice size fish.. It caught me offguard and it might be a place where I get back into sweetwater fishing again...
FYI - if you are over 16yrs old make sure to have your Fishing License, I know of someone that got pinched back there by the Game Wardens without one back in the Spring..
