Jigging with Scooby-Doo's in the back

I had a buddy that took a trip out in the back with a fishing guide over the weekend. They picked up six bass hitting several different spots and using what he was calling Scooby-Doo's on a jig head. Anyone know what the H*ll a Scooby-Doo is? Also do you recommend giving them a try if I end up in the back after trying the rips.
