I headed down to breezy lee on sat. and figured I would make my first trip out for some bass. I had all my gear ready to head up the bay, but I could find any fresh clams. I called everywhere and couldn't find a thing. As I was walking down the dock with a bag of frozen stuff left over from last year, I guy passed me with some fresh clams. He told me he got them at Hinch's. I ran down there and they had plenty. I grabbed some clams and fresh bunker and they gave me a discount for my first bait order. What a deal, I didn't even know there was a tackle store there.
The guy there even told that if I knew I was coming down, I could call ahead and he would save me whatever I needed until I got there and with drum season right around the corner he would deliver bushels of clams right to my boat. I thought that was so cool because I don't even have to go out of my way to worry about bait. Just a little heads up for all you barners.
As for fishing that sat. we fished the incoming tide in the afternoon and ended up with 4 bass, the biggest being 20lbs and we were just south of the Horseshoe in about 21ft of water.
