Anybody know how many miles it is to the Cape May rips from Townsend's Inlet by way of the ocean.

Dave, it's a good run.
It's really not the miles, the conditions and your boat are the best predictors. On a calm day, once you clear the 8th street Jetty doing 50-60, undr 20 minutes. In a normal V-hull, about 30-35. Bad conditions, 45 to a hour. It's worth it though, good luck. GPS, NOAA you will be fine.

It was good about two weeks ago with some hot surface action. Lot of herring and spearing as well. Last two trips , about a weeks time, dead. Will keep trying as always, I think the ocean front is probally the key. I will keep you posted.
