hey fellas,
i have my boat in toms rive and always go out of barnegat, but i will be spending the week with the wife's family in avalon. wanted to know if you guys can recommend a good captain, be it a charter or party boat that can put us on some fish out of the area.
thanks,

The Miss Avalon fishes out of Morans bait and tackle around 16th street. It is a party boat that runs 4 or 5 hour trips out front for flounder seabass, etc. There are also charter boats int he same marina. Capt. Dick Herb runs some back bay charters also. Hope this helps.

Are they pretty much runnin for fluke and seabass, because up by me around seaside we still have bunker running pretty heavy. i am assuming that down there thats probably out of the picture.

I'd go the cape may route, the Miss Avalon is catching sea bass, porgies, and croakers right now.

I'd hop on the Adam Bomb or the Stalker down in cape may, if I were you.

What did you catch and do in Cabo? While you're down in Avalon, stop in Sylvester's Fish Market for dinner one night, if you do ask for Steve. I'll hook it up nice. It's over the 21st street bridge on 5th ave. I'm off on Tuesdays.

NICE, sounds great. i will make sure i stop by. as for cabo, we were on the stripe Marlin all day, but unfortunately we got the classic Mexican Runaround. You know, the one where everything is included at first, then when you get on the boat they say, "oh yah, the rods will cost an extra ..., and oh yah if you want a drink that will cost an extra... and oh yah if you want to use the can it will cost an extra ... for cleaning. but never the less the fishing was great.

@200lb blue marlin- 35 minute fight with some nice jumps. good fight. the burro captain smashed his boat with the club- that was funny- but like Dean said- the mexican runaround- and I know damn well bout the runaround- lived in mexico for two months

Adam is a great fisherman! And you can learn alot from him! If you want to stay local, smugglers cove on 83rd. rents boats.

I echo sentiment to try Cape May and know both Adambomb and Stalker do a great job. There is also a capt. in Avalon at Morans (Fast Pace Charters) that is considered solid. Good choices abound down here. Good luck.

While you're down in Avalon, stop in Sylvester's Fish Market

You work there? We ususually hit Slyvester's at least once while we are in Avalon? I will be down again from 8/27 to 9/3.
