Hey Bob good catch on the troll, had 4 fish with eel in the river 10/20. I am trying the outgoing tomorrow.

the outgoing is the ticket for me when i'm trolling with only a few exceptions, but it was really dead for me in the river on the incoming tide on 10/21 once it turned it took off immediately and seemed to get better as it progressed. i missed almost as many as i caught by the way, and after waiting all day for action that was a real bummer but nobody get's them all!

I fished the Mullica from 3am to 9:30am today 10/23 and got a first class beatin'. I was on to some real nice fish and just could not keep them on the plug. It can be tricky some times to hook larger fish in a stiff current and on a snag prone bottom, not making excuses but the fish are loaded in the river. Ended up with a couple nice one's and some shorts.

Fished the Mullica on sunday, few short strikes and bumps but nothing to show for it.Went down river further to ChestnutNeck and marked some fish but they didn't want clam or eels. Headed across the bay towards the inlet, herring were thick.Tried live lining them but there were no bass showing up on the FF,just small blues mixed in.Hey bob I've been trolling in the Mullica for about 6 years now.I always do better trolling in the spring,a lot of times we out fish guys using herring.Give a yell if you see me on the river,I'll be in a Skeeter bass boat.

Hey Creek Duck you're exactly right about out fishing the liveliners. There's been times I have been fishing near the guys with eels and livebaits of some sort and I have caught 8 or 9 fish before I have seen 1 taken on the baits. Simple fact is I will cover much, much more water then they can drifting, and I know what things to look for on the finder and they way my plug should be running, practice makes perfect. But one thing I will say is I feel you get better fish on live baits especially larger live baits they seem (for me) to bring up the larger fish. I'll keep my eye's out for you Creek Duck I fish in a 19 American Skiff center console, white boat w/blue 135 Evinrude outboard and I almost always have my VHF on and scanning.

bgreene I was on both sides of the bridge throughout the day, when I work some of the shallower areas I'll make a couple passes then leave or move off, I think it keeps the fish a little less skittish.

I have a faint recollection but would not bet the bank on it. Hit me on the radio next time or throw me the middle finger or something like that we can trade some info.

Thanks M. Bob - I fish the river some, but I also trailer all over incl. Del Bay, Ocean, up the Jersey shore.
I have never fished the Mullica for Stripers ( although I've caught Stripers in the river )
Maybe I'll drag some lures, or swim some live bait some time.

Do you have a tap on my phone? Or perhaps a bug in my house? I'll be there roughly 3:45 am, with the cold weather gear in tow, plugs, clams and bunker raedy for battle. Give me a yell.

wondering if you guys have had any luck between the parkway and Lower Bank bridges. Are you fishing any of the feeder creeks or mostly on the troll.

Yeah Bob that was me at the bridge throwing at the splashes. There are alot of small stripers there. Had a little problem in the morning the dock at the marina decided to fall apart on the boat. That wind and tide really can do some damage. I tried those cuts nothing and where I saw you 1 18incher. How did you do?

I was out last night by the parkway bridge from 6:30pm to 10:30pm and trolled live eel. Nothing! I also trolled around the corner towards Bass River. Sooner or later I will get one.

Sorry for the late response guy's had buisness out of town!! The Mullica report is short and sweet for Thursday the 10/27, I got out early just a lite wind was perfect to keep you going against the tide for casting at the Parkway bridge. Some smallies but managed about 8 or 9 in 26" range, was going to stay in the river and troll when the sun came up but changed my mind, good thing. Went out to the LE inlet with fresh clams and bunker and caught the last 2 hrs of the outgoing. No fish under 12lbs with the biggest 22lbs all on clam, nothing touched the bunker. Fished the incoming caught 2 around 30" pulled hook on one other fish. It was a beautifull day to be fishing with lite winds and a calm inlet. By the way Creek Duck I sent you mail it was returned with some problems I'll try again.
