Can any one piont me in the right direction to catching my own SPOT like what I need hook/bait and where I may find them in the Cape may area. Also if I keep them in a live net at my doc how long will the live? Any help or advice would be great - my pockets are a little light this season and I am looking to save a couple $$.

Most of the marinas and small creeks in the area hold spot and small croakers...both will work when livelined.
Small hooks baited with bloodworms, small pieces of clam, fish bites etc. will do.
I don't use a bait pen, so I can't offer any advice on that.

I have kept them in a pen for over three months past Thanksgiving. You need to feed them a few times a week when the water is warm and less as it cools. Feed them clam chum (cause it is easy), clams pieces, fish parts. This year was not a good year for catching spots in NJ and they are all gone from what I know.

I cant find any spot but if you want baby croaker all you have to do is take a basket-style crab trap with bunker and youll get them. I did this a couple weeks ago and transported them to my bait pen in a cooler full of water. Tied an 8oz bank sinker to the bottom of the trap and dropped them in a heavy current around a bridge. They are still nice and pesky.
