Fished Elbow and Rainbow Wed. night 3:30-6:00. Incredible sunset, moon, and flat water. Saw some schoolies working small pod of peanuts. Tried to hook up with the fly rod but my amatuer casting skills prevented me from reaching them. First cast with a yellow bomber hooked up with a 22" and spooked the whole deal. Only managed one more 23" on a top water dog walker. Launching around rainbow is getting hairy 'cus the construction. Saw a sign that it will be closed Sat. (8AM - 9:30PM). Can anyone confirm that. Also on a side note, need some feedback on replacement trebles for hard baits. I don't want the real big size yet I want them to be strong and good quality. Any thoughts??

Yeah. They close the causeway every year for a 5K run called the Trail of Two Cities. OC to SP.

I don't think they will bother you if you are parked on the side before the run starts.

VMC trebles are strong and durable. I think the size I use for smaller plugs is 2/0.

Thanks guys. I knew about the run. I guess they made a mistake on the sign with the times (8AM - 9:30PM). Where can I pick up VMC trebles?

:) Had a great Sun. morning. Many shorts and two 26-28" fish at the bridge on the outgoing. Lots of peanut bunker around. Two guys bait fishing were amused as I pulled fish after fish out while they watched.

Excellent weather for this week, anybody for a yakfest around SH/Hereford Inlet/Wildwoods?

Call 609-468-1865 if interested. Have extra Pungo SIK that someone can use.

Thought Id share some of these pics...
We took this roadtrip to Maine in August...I was hoping to get in on some of the Maine late summer striper fishing that I had heard about. Soon as we got into Maine we started driving the coast. Looking for signs of fish and just plain sight seeing.

Got out on the water finally after finding this neat launch area.

Most photographed light house in the world right there. Julie joined me too and had fun playing hide and seek with some seals. I worked a pencil popper right up against those rocks and raised a couple small schoolies. Neat water for sure. And just an awesome backdrop.

We probaly each paddled a few miles that day before the wind kicked back up. Headed up to Arcadia after that...no real inshore fishing up that far to speak of. Just did some lazy paddling amongst some gorgeous scenery.

All in all a great trip...didnt set the fishing world on fire but Im glad we did it. Really made me appreciate Jerseys fishing even more...Ya think beach access in Jersey is tough?? Not even close! We got it real good compared to up there! Also anything that looked good was absolutly COVERED with tourists and all the typical summer rules, parking problems and fees etc... Were so fortunate that the majority of our striper run is when the beach and beachtowns are void of tourists and all the silly rules that come along with that season.
Its a big, beautiful country we live in. Go see it! And next time ya take a trip, take the yak and see it from the waters level and a paddles pace.
Next up: OBX in December...round two:D

Just finished a nice trip on the bay. Got in and cleaned up before the rain started. Fished for an hour and a half at the start of the incoming tide and bagged a 34"er. Saturday morning was also productive with a 29"er and a short but fat, 26"er and one much larger fish that threw the hook before I could get it close to the kayak. If the wind cooperates (its the key to kayaking on the Delaware Bay), should have a good next couple of weeks fishing.

Eric G,
If you wanna wander a bit North, I'd show you around my area. Do some back bay trollin. I have some great success trolling Blue/siler broke back bombers. Southern Atlantic county. Not that far.
