.....but then again- you never know!

The fun started today as Rodfather and I got to the marina around 6:30- before dawn. It was low tide and the ramp was covered with frost. It must have been a sight to see Joe and I try to get the big cooler down that ramp with 45lbs of clam bellies in it- without falling on our arses.

We made it!

Anyway- we headed North Running and A-Gunning. We stopped along the way and found some birds here and there- marked bait- but no fish. We were working Peacock- when Stalker called us a bit further North to the Sea Isle Lump. Thanks for the Call Skip!

We found widespread bird action- with even more widespread fish. We did mange 4 fish- 3 on Hopkins and one on a bucktail. Water was 47 degrees or so.

The bite ended early- so we worked our way back and found good bait marks inside of Peacock. We watched this guy catch about 6 nice sized bass right in front of us. He was trolling umbrella rigs and he was by himself. After about the 1st one- Joe and I decided to troll ourselves. We put out a large Storm and a Stretch 25- to no avail.

As the W kicked up- we took a sniff back out by the WW Lump- and there was not one boat there. Last year this time it seemed like the whole world was at the WW Lump.

Joe- it was great ending the season with you- and some fish to boot. The boat will be pulled tomorrow.

I already can't wait until March!

Like guns mentioned, we sat and watch this guys in a Wellcraft V-20 catch at least 5 trolling umbrella rigs and this was at noon. Also we managed to fight off the temptation to fish the dark side even though they were bailing them all day long as confirmed by several at the dock who were more then willing to admit the location. We did however straddled the line a bit near the Lump but never forcomed to sin. I can't honestly say that I would make the same decision next time however :D lol. Howcome the bite out there seems to last all day? I guess more of a concentration of fish causes more competitiveness and prolonged feeding periods. Any other thoughts?

Way to end the season on a positive note guys. Any fishing in December is good fishing and sounds like it was a good time out there. Must of been tough to stay inside knowing they were biting.... but way to keep it honest ;) and holy shot 45 lbs of clams

In my own defense Boss- we only had 45lbs of bellies- b/c I only had two 25lb bags left in the walk-in freezer at the Savoy. LOL
