I have some friends that are going to Indian river tomorrow and they are looking to buy live spot. They found one place but the guy wants 3.00 each. Anyone know of a place to get them cheaper then that?

That is the going rate and up in some places. $3.00 is the best I have seen, no better anywhere.

Has anyone caught any large stripers with spot. It seems to me that the spot hit the scene big time last year and now everyone wants them so they are like double the price than last year. All I ever here about being caught with them are short stripers at IRI inlet. I just couldn't justify the price for shorts.... I think hook'em and cook'em had/has them around 3.00. Last year old inlet and hook'em and cook'em had them.

a buddy of mine got a 48 in on spot in Rips tuesday...if they are hungry they will crush em...if they are chunking the bay though.....those big lazy cows prefer the chunks...had 0 bites with spot but went 4 for 4 on the chunk rods

Hey! I'm heading to IRI tomorrow for 3 days.
I saw a guy pull a nice striper in IRI last year using live spot.

Last year live spot I think outfished eels. The year before, eels were the hot ticket. Go figure, I think if your there at the right time the striped ones will crush either one. Working the right tides is a crucial piece of information as well as the clarity of the water right on the rips. I have seen the rips when they were muddy and we tried everything, nada. Sometimes it makes you feel like you are pushing on a rope. It can be humbling but you can't catch them from the couch. Good luck and stay safe..
