Well, After the monster on Friday, we fished Saturday and there were so many boats that I believe if you had engine problems, you could have walked back to shore by stepping boat to boat. We did have a couple shots and did boat bass up to 28 lbs., but it was a struggle. Sunday dawned a new day and it was a bit different. I had Ray Rafke and 5 friends that work together on board. What a great group of guys. We had 5 striper virgins on board and as the tide started to run out, the first fish hit. Now I have a load of pics from the trip but I can't post them all so, suffice it to say that we did boat that fish. Matter of fact, here is Ray, a SV with his first bass ever.

By the time all was said and done, we kept 10 fish andwere 2 short of a limit with the smallest being 37" and the largest 45". Every guy had his first, and some their 2nd. What a gorgeous day and I can't remember when I had a better time with a charter.

Kirk Hilliard and his faithful Ohio campanion Jim stepped on board for Monday. They were here for 2 trips and a couple of years ago slammed the bass in the rips with me. This time I suggested that they try chunking since it is much better that the ripping is right now for quality fish. I have chosen to fish where I figure we have the best chance of catching legal fish and so far, it seems to be right. Anyway, we set off to where I had roped them the day before, and as the tide started off, GOTIMON! Yep, Kirk had a 42" bass in the boat.

Within 1/2 hour, Jim boated another beauty!

I figured that we were definitely in prime shape to limit out but that was not to be. As soon as they started, they stopped. I stayed there too long waiting for the blitz but it never happened. I worked a couple of other spots but no more fish. We stayed out 2 1/2 hours extra trying to produce more fish for them which I could do since I fish only 1 trip a day, but to no avail. What a bummer! Anyway, i suggested that we try the rips the next day, but to my amazement, they wanted to chunk again! Go figure. So Tuesday morning we set off early to try the incoming. I stopped at a spot that often works for me and sat for 1/2 hr., figuring, "Hey, we'll try it and then move on if the fishing sucks." It didn't. We caught 6 there up to 45" on the flood. Of course, Jim hooked a fish that swam right to the boat that he referred to as a "P---y fish" But when it got even with the boat the fish proceeded to kick his azz! He was sweating so much that his hat slid off and I had to get my sunglasses because of the glare off his balding head! Turns out that the fish was 45". We then made a move for the outgoing and as soon as it started, the fish started up again. We ended up keeping their limit and a bonus plus my limit and a bonus as well as releasing 4 over 40" 'to swim again!

I kept some fish personally since I promised my friend Ernie Utsch some striper and I figured that he would be very glad to get some. He was. What a day! These guys drove back to Ohio with a new cooler since the one they had was too small for all the fish they caught, and I can't wait until they come down for some drummin. I do have 5 days open in December and 1 in November if you want to be part of this action. I do love this tiome of year!

Thanks for slowing down, so many folks don't grant that courtesy. Hope you did well. Stop and say hi sometime.

It really is great to watch folks faces when they catch a nice fish. If their smile was any wider, the bottom of their face would fall off!
