I recently bought a used Parker powered by a 2001 Yamaha 200 HPDI. I was wondering if anyone has got any feedback on the pros and cons of this engine. Any info will be helpful. TY

I Have Twin 200 Hpdi Motors On A 27ft.grady...no Problem And She Flies...(knock On Wood)
I have twin 150's , nearly the same motor. Love them !
Use quality 2 stroke oil and ring- free.
I follow these 2 sites if I need assistance.

mu father in law has one and has apparently run it lean a few times and no damage to the internals, just unclog the problem and back on the water..............I would say that I am sold on the durability of the engine, I just think it needs a better way to filter out the poison we are filling them with.

I have a pair of 150s -2001 - almost 1,000 hrs on them. I always used Yamalube oil and ring free. I switched to 10 micron filters this year to deal with new fuel blend. Very stong, economical engines. I was advised to always prime the motors with the fuel bulb after letting the engines sit for a couple of days - it is supposed to lubricate the high pressure side of the fuel pump. Change lower unit oil at least every season and water pump and thermostat every 3-4 seaons or more often if you plow through the mud and sand alot.

I have the same boat with an '04 200 HPDI. Runs great, plenty of power.
I have about 500 hrs on it with no problem.
had the 250s and loved them. Use nothing but Yami-lube and the Yahmaha ring free in the fuel. No problems........enjoy

I have an 03 200 and it has been pretty much problem free! Had a force 120 and that was the worst 7 years of my life! 3 head gaskets and a bad piston later that piece of s**t was gone!
