Hey guys!
The wild weather continues but the fishing remains good!
Wednesday was the foggiest day I've seen in quite some time, we left at dawn and returned just before dusk, and visibility was 1/4 mile or less for 90% of the day. In the morning, Joe Smith was aboard for his charter with Hank, Mike, and Jay. Fishing was great! We whacked the bass from start to finish ending up with 25 fish to 38" for the group on live bait and artificials! Great job, guys! In the afternoon, our open boat group was made up of Joe, Greg, Gene, Brian, Jay, and Pat. Fishin' in the fog proved to be productive again, with a steady bite throughout the trip on bait and jigs that escalated into all out mayhem just before dark with several drifts producing a hook-up or bite for everyone on board! We ended the afternoon with 35 fish to 36". Lots of fun, guys!
We took off yesterday with the 30 knot plus Southerly that made conditions real ugly!
Today, we ran one trip this afternoon with Joe, Steve, Mark, and we took Skip the Animal along for the ride. The wind was blowing 15 to 20 westerly making it relatively choppy, but quite fishable. The water was pretty dirty early in the tide, but a few moves found a spot that was cleaner, albeit still pretty darn dirty! First drift...fish on! Mark got that one...next drift...fish on...Mark got that one again! We continued catching steady with Mark and Steve getting fish on bait with Steve getting the biggest of the evening at 35", Skip got one on a bucktail, and Joe pulled the hook on a couple. :( When that bite died, we made another move and got on a few more fish. Joe hadn't caught a fish, and had a streak of not getting skunked himself on a bass trip that he was determined to keep up. On the last drift of the evening just as it got dark, we said wind 'em up we're headed for the Barn and after everyone was reeled up doesn't Joe sink the hook in a 30" fish on a bucktail to save his streak! Way to be committed, Joe! :D Thanks for a fun night, fellas! We had about a dozen bass this afternoon and Joe, Steve, and Mark all got to take home their limit of bass to 35"!
