Hit the same area off SI as I did last Sunday where we had 4 shorts. Picked up 2 slots and a 31" fish that was released. Jigged them up with crippled herring lures. Bite was quick and then shut off. Caught the 3 between 8 and 8:30. Fished the spot for 3 more hours with no other fish.
Salt Shaker - anything on the troll yesterday?
Probably have One More in me on Friday before calling it a season.

Went out of TI sat. late morning. Marked some fish right outside oftheinlet, but no hook ups. Went to some lumps just North of Hereford. Trolled stretch 25's and jigged for awhile with no bites. Will hang in therefor 2 more weeks, then call it quits. water temp 42

Left the dock at 7:15. Motored right for the Cuma Lumps. Found little on the sounder. Fished them hard until we moved farther out toward the SI Lump. Marked some good bait on a lump short of the SI Lump but could not find anything hungry. No marks at the SI or at a lump a little farther off. Mortored back to the inshore lumps and found nothing. Went back to the dock empty for the first time in a while.

Onthefly, did you fish in the Sod Buster Tournament?(J. VanDuyne's) or is that another "Onthefly"?

Fished out front on my buddy`s boat last sunday, ran from C.M. to Hereford`s up the 3m line. Came back down along the beach, no fish out there, no birds either. Never marked a thing, it did snow a little though. Jigged bucktails and trolled the lumps no fish. Were are they is the question?

salt,
must be a different onthefly. My boats name is "albie Damned". 21' C.C. Pursuit.
Has anyone fished the shoals or the 5FB lately?
I read on betty and nicks (IBSP) that they are still hitting the small ones, so they have to still come down. Maybe they're off a little farther. GOnna Try this Friday, as the weather looks good.

onthefly,
I will most likely be out Friday as well for the final farewell. I'll be on 68. Boat is One More... 28' CC Hydra Sports. Maybe we can work the usual spots and help each other out.
I checked out the Avalon shoals and 2FB areas the previous weekend but nothing was going on. Just cruising to see if any blues were left ;)
I'll give you a shout or do the same.

Sounds good Brew,
I'll give you a shout. Maybe we'll hook into some of the blues before they head South.

onthefly - change of plans for Friday. Unfortunately the morning will be spent cleaning the boat out and then it's off to Hackney's for the winter. Not crazy about the SW wind tonight and tomorrow morning. Plus the water temp is lower than last week when I checked earlier.

Gonna call it quits for the year. Next trip for me will be out of Key West for grouper!!

Good luck to you and all of the boats still in the water!! Catch 'em up! And thanks to all for the reports and advice over the season. Can't wait till April!!

One More... out tongue.gif
