View Full Version : The Grinch That Stole My Christmas...

Yes, sad but true. Several of my ups delivered packages were stolen from my front porch last week while I was at work. Shipping confirmation shows they were left at my front door. Makes me sick to my stomach, especially at this time of year for some low-life to do that.
Skip, your house-warming & Christmas gift was in there...I'm working on getting everything reshipped at the expense of UPS. Unfortunately most of the stuff will probably not arrive in time for the big day.
Next time they ask "What can Brown do for you?" tell them no thanks.
Oh well. Im done my rant.

I GET EVERYTHING (WELL ALMOST) SHIPPED TO WORK.
I AM WONDERING IF MY HABS NJ DEVIL GOT PICKED OFF MY PORCH YESTERDAY
- IF IT DID I WILL BE SERIOUSLY PISSED  - THEN I'LL GET OVER IT AND ORDER ANOTHER AND GET IT SENT TO WORK.

Yeah, I should have done that. I thought that messing with other people's mail was a huge no no...even worse than treason, well, maybe not that bad.
It really gets on my nerves because the thing I really enjoy about Christmas is seeing the expression on people's face. I think most people would agree. Not having this stuff on time, well, that just bothers me. I can't push Christmas back to the 28th or 29th.
People that steal should have their hands cut off.

Messing with the mail is a big thing. Messing with UPS is another story. I hope you get that grinch. Then put him in a box and send him somewhere.

That sucks, sorry to hear that, I've been very lucky that way, me and the rest of the neighbors take the packages in our homes until our neighbor gets home if we see any on the porches or steps, it's usually kids, and that is a real shame, you would hope they were taught better, good luck with it, hope it all works out, Merry Christmas and have a Great New Year, fishpole

Thanks, fishpole, same to you. I have a neighbor that is the town hawk and she saw someone and has a description that matches one of the friends of my down-stairs neighbor. I'm in the process of making a police report, so we'll see where it goes.
In the meantime, dealing with customer service on getting things reshipped has been irritating to say the least. On top of that, I'm convinced that the local UPS branch up here is run by a pack of mongoloid elves.
Things have a way of always working out, could be a lot worse. Im a bit paranoid now about leaving the apartment for Christmas break...what's next, a break-in? Might have to ask Santa for new friends next year - Smith and Wesson.

Thanks guys...it IS all about the people afterall. Yes, Skip and I have been friends for 20 years, I consider him my brother, but he'll just have to understand that the bag of coal I ordered is currently sold out and will have to be shipped next year ;)

That stinks. I once ordered a lawn mower engine and it was shipped Fed-Ex. When the Fed-Ex driver walked in with the box it was empty less the foam. When it was first scanned at the depot it weighed 71 pounds. That would leed me to believe it was stolen by someone working for them. Had to file a claim to get reimbursed.

Sorry to hear Joe, someday they'll get their paybacks.
We just sent out something today for a customer to replace a lost UPS package.

Joe, sorry to hear of your loss. I work at a luxury apartment complex in King of Prussia and the same thing has been happening there regularly. The cops set up a sting by leaving some packages at one unit and the theives even stole their packages without getting caught. This country need to get like others, get caught stealing cut off the hands.

Thanks guys, and Merry Christmas back at ya!
GOOD NEWS...
My address is 6806, so I decided to drive around the complex and until I found 6808. Low and behold, I see 2 big packages shoved firmly against the door. I walk up, and as luck would have it, its my stuff!
Not only did the mongoloid retards of UPS deliver it to wrong address, they left it at the front door, wide open for the whole street to get at. Sure, they're supposed to leave a sticky on the door if your not there, but these aint your normal folks.
Sorry for the false alarm guys... I'm a bit embarrassed now since I was almost ready to go 'clint eastwood' on this town. Thanks for the support and avenue for me to vent...
I'm now trying to decide if I should give the thong to its intended recipient (how'd you know Scotty? ), or keep it for myself! :D

Joeblack,
For future referrance, they will only leave a sticky thing on your door if a signature is required. You can request that when you order your goods. However, most of the time sig is not required and they can just leave it. Plus if you are not home during the day your screwed.
Like Mullaney, I have everything shipped to my office. Makes it much easier and safer. For the most part UPS is great. We do about $100K in shipping with them a year and I monitor it closely.
Besides that I'm glad you found your stuff and Merry X-Mas.

Man, that sucks. I've had some really expensive stuff shipped UPS and never had a problem with the front porch deliverys. Been lucky I guess. Are you responsable to pay for the stolen goods? If you paid by credit card they may cover the lose.
