shorts, shorts and two keepers. i don't know about any big fish, but it's the first time this striper season the type of fish there coresponded with the date. ice in the marina lagoon and small fish! the fish were scattered and the wind was too much to jig. don't like to throw the heavy ava's and didn't feel like deploying the drift sock. so trolling it was. over 50 shorts and a suprise two keepers while making a circle back to thick marks. lots of bird play but it wasn't concentrated. the bait seemed to be rain fish. the two keepers were 28" and 31". they had a little of everything in their guts. shrimp, rain fish, crabs and other unidentifiable things. my standard spread of large bullet jigs w/ small bucktail trailiers and strech 25's produced well.

i think i might be done. too much too do with christmas coming and ducks to kill. unless i here about the fish from up north that are still coming. unfortunately next week is out for me due to work...ugh. i'll tell you we were marking bigger fish out in 54' of water. they were on the bottom. they would push bait to the surface and then they seemed to dive right away. tried ava's and big bucktails but they were hard to figure. here one minute then over a couple of hundred yards the next. they were definatly bigger marks though.

hey mike, how's married life treating you. hopefully well!! have your brother call me. lost my cell and his #.

I think I know what boat you are talking about. They also kept going thru the schools scattering the bass & birds...Was on the Fisherman and the guy next to me caught one of the a$$es lures..priceless :D

We worked the beach from LEI to Ship Bottom on Sunday. Caught well over 70 bass jigging with metals and bucktails in various depths. No keepers, but it was sure a fun day. Weather and seas were beautiful.

The weather was perfect. Had to wait a bit for the tide to come in this mourning. Jigged 17 stripers in 3 hours. They were all rats but the ocean was like a lake and temp was unseasonably warm. Having both rods go off at the same time while jigging was a blast.:)
