Broke Squan inlet just as it was getting light, first boat out and Holy $h!t was it cold, we found the birds just south of the jetty. Every cast was fish, however they were all small, very small, like 15inches. It didn’t take long for the masses to show up so we decided to move a little further south, set up on a small pod and pulled a few move dozen shorts out, bigger then the ones at the inlet, but still short. Picked up and moved south again and found a huge pod of birds off Chadwick which produced our first keepers of the day along with a bunch more shorts. It dried up off Chadwick but was going off at Sea Side so we ran down and spent the remainder of the day a little north of the pier in about 40 to 60 feet of water. Limited out plus two bonus tags, largest fish was just shy of 20lbs, what a day!!
