Yesterday, Tried the rips. couldnt see half an inch into the water, So we wandered up the coast. At about hereford we found some birds, but only a couple shorts for some hard work, we continued north and just short of corsons hit a LARGE school of stripes. Nobody else on the scene when we got there. It was drop and reel fishing with anything that got to the bottom. We only managed 2 keepers at 30", but even them little guys were putting up a tough battle. Saw seagulls flying around with butterfish, and when I cleaned up my bass it had a large butter and 5" weakie in it. sounds like the bass stretch up and down the majority of SJ now. get on it!! An absolute blast. I was using a 3oz hopkins on bottom. if it didn't get hit on the drop, then jigg it once or twice and got hit.
As for # of fish, it would be silly for me to guesstimate, but it seemed like we always were both hooked up at the same time:D , all the time
