chunking hering

Can you chunk hering with good results?A guy I work with said they are worthless to use as bait but,I was just wondering if anybody has had any luck with them.

Herring is one of the best baits out there for stripers except BUNKER of Course!!!!!!

is this true? Each year i normally catch hundreds in the river and freeze those little wierdo's. I tried chunking em for tuna but nuthin on the utners, next year im going to hammer them again and save as many as possible!

don't cut them up put them on whole big bass will eat them like nothin we had some of our biggest fish on whole live herring its just like if u snag a small bunker 5-6 in put him on whole and hold on
