Well..... fed them a dozen eels today in 6 different spots :mad: ... some nice 6-8# choppers off the beach from 20-45' of water. Today's water temp off Margate/Vetnor was 56, and it was a beautiful day inshore even with the wind honkin a little...
No bass.... no bass... :(
Suckers were even eatin my bunker noggins...

At least you got out.
There's a trick I was shown too many years ago with eeling under blues.
First use a drail (in-line) weight ... make sure hardware is painted black (spray) ... then if still bothered put eel in a brown lunch bag, twist at top and drop to bottom. The bag disintegrates in a couple of minutes.
The blues see the eel going down and see the weight kicking up the bottom.
The drail causes less commotion on the bottom & the bag spares the eel.
Sounds crazy but works well.
