Striper Frenzy

Was out on the OFF DUTY yesterday fishing the rips.You would think it was the middle of september.We caught about 50 stripers only 5 keepers.We had 4 and 5 on at a time at some points.It was just a great day all around.Hats off to Captain Joe Safaryn (609)425-8859 of the OFF DUTY.

Did you bring those keepers back to the dock with you?

If you are setting him up to say he kept them and that bringing them to the dock is illegal, due to the the inlet and back closed, its splitting hairs. Its that hair splitting time of year.

Saw you guys out there, it looked like you were live-lining.....were you using spot?

You were hooked up numerous times when we saw you but we could only manage a slow pick using bucktails. We had better action on the incoming and by the time we got near you the tide started moving out hard and the water got dirty.

Way to catch 'em up.

By the way....there are Rips on the ocean-side of the Point, so why wouldn't it be legal to keep fish from there?

You can bring them back to the dock, just don't stop anywhere in the back on the way in. That 's from a warden I know.

wasnt trying to set him up richard. i have been catching alot of keepers and curious if anyone was getting hasseled bringing them back to the dock from the ocean.

We where using bucktails and eels most of the action was on bucktails(yellow).All of the keepers were on the eels.Keepers were not that big two 32 two 30 and a 29.

I had a great day too in the OCEAN. the stripers on the table in Jan was more than i could ask for. 2007 has gotten off to a great start for me:)
