Had a super fun day on Saturday as I took part in 4 of seminars at the Saltwater Sportsman Seminar Series, hosted by George Poveromo at Trump Marina Hotel in Atlantic City.

Was part of the Capt's group doing, Striped bass, Trophy Striped Bass, Weakfish, and Fluke. There were over 800 anglers in attendance and it was a lot of fun for all involved will lots of great door prizes provided by the many sponsors.

Got to talk to many people in between seminars, saw a number of my past off shore big boat charter clients, as well as my inshore flatsboat ones and fishermen I have known through the years. Great way to spend a Saturday during the winter. (high of 70 degrees)

Got to mention fly fishing as another method of taking the three species that i participated in, but with the mainly non fly fishing crowd I had to keep it to a minimum, detailing conventional methods.

I went to the seminar and found it very intresting. I went last year and I always get some really good info. It is cool to see the different ways the "pros" fish for the same fish, and how hard you guys fish. Thanks for all the great info.:)

I thought the seminar was very well presented. The only disappointment I had was not winning a pair of Costa Del Mar sunglasses! They kept to the schedule and made the day go by like a breeze.

I also thought the seminar was very interesting. George kept things on a tight schedule which I liked. Wish I won that first door prize (that huge Penn Reel that was under the box).

i went to the seminar as well and thought it to be just "ok"

in my judgement the panelists were not very well prepared and sort of made up their answers on the fly.

in the future i would like to see a booklet that follows each of the presentations for notes.

with 800+ audience members a controlled question and answer period would have been nice

i was also disappointed that no time was spent on wire trolling

I also would have liked a part of the striper part to include some wire line info as it is my goto if it's slow. I do well with it but maybe a tip I didn't know about would have been nice.

pwyxit100, With the 3/4 of an hour alotted to each topic there was only enough time to go over basics. There is so much that we could of covered if time allowed it. On stripers alone you could do a whole day seminar. There was so much more that the captains would of liked to go over but time would not allow for it. It would of been nice to have a hour each for Where to fish and why, bait use, plastics, bucktails, plugs, trolling, flies etc.

Like the other Captains, I brought way too much stuff that could of been talked about, but it was the moderators job to direct the flow and try to cover general basics in the short time allowed.

In talking inbetween seminars with attendees, everyone enjoyed the day and said with all great door prizes the free stuff including the nice bag etc. it was great deal for the money.
