Best to go early on a mid rising tide and lower light, or wait a little and hit it at a higher rise in the tide or falling water- but high light. Gonna chum the clams in the back, hopefully not near any boats at all. Just don't know which is the better choice. Any insight?

I've got the same plan. I'll have bait in the water by dawn and I'll ride out the incoming till it's over. At slack tide I'll see if I can score a tog and then call it day. If you're looking to avoid the boats I'd go with the early version. Light trumps tide doesn't it? Or is it the other way around? Either way it's better than raking leaves!!

I'd hit it early also, we chunked late twice last week and did very little. The boats that were chunking early on the incomeing had much better results.
