Bluewater sportfishing

We had brian, his wife jodi, brian (mako) and haig and his girlfriend nancy out today for a striper/drum trip. I moved the departure time up to 12 noon to catch the outgoing and some of the dusk bite, but once we got out there there wasnt much of a bite. The tide was barly moving, thats why everyone is getting skates and shark. the drum realy love a strong tide. We were able to manage a few stripers. With the wind against the tide the boat was sitting...just wrong. The bite should realy start to come on this up and coming weekend for everyone. vinny and myself had a great time saturday with the crew despite the lack of fish. was a pleasure to meet the new brian and brians wife.
we went to our #'s that we had good action on last weekend. the water temp was 57-59 colder on the incoming. I ended the fishing in 17 feet of water but it didnt matter, the whole bottom of the bay is lined with skates. at one point I had my bait in the water for a 1/2 hour and when I brought it up to check on it there were two horseshoe crabs mating on my clam...lol. thats how slow the water was moving.
But all in all had a awsome time fishing with everyone, and look forward to the next time.
(nancy I have your spot reserved if any one else goes near that corner they will be ctapulted out of the boat)
