Well,
went out for 3rd weekend in a row with great results. headed out Sat at about 10 and clams were in the water by 11am. Within 15 min. game was on with steady action for about 2 hours. Wind was really kicking more than expected and tides were thrown off a bit. As it was the first nice weekend there was what i like to describe as 50,000 boats fishing and running through creating traffic. From looking around we could see that somehow we were the only boat in our area cathing fish and next thing you know we have a boat on our coattails within about 15 yards of our boat trying to steal our slick and action. Would have said something but as it turned out we had more fun watching them try to mimic our bait, tackle, casts and come up with ZERO fish. Just goes to show what happens when you cheat.
Final count was 10fish, 9striper and 1 blue. All mid size so we kept our slots and headed out.
Lets go Barnegat crew!!!!!!!!

Nice report. Glad to see your still picking them up, hopefully some big one's will be on the move shortly. Nice you showed patience with the fleet, it's not easy..I was out as well the wind machine was in high gear along with the bluefish they were all over me, fish to 29 inches had to total 20-25 of them..Moved around alot shook them for about 30 min. when i got a bass bite 3 fish to 33", and had a 4th shake the hook on me after about 10 minutes..Beatiful day water was just an incredible color looked like the Keys.

OneMore, didn't hear from you on Sat. Tried 78 once or twice but nothing. Do agree with you on the water, looked great, just getting a little frustrated with the Mid Size bass. Don't get me wrong i am fully enjoying the catch in general but out of 30+ bass caught in the last 3 weeks i would have liked to see one or 2 in the upper 30"s to 40" even. I guess we'll just have to wait for Chunkin bunker heads for that!

Sorry Dean i was by myself between the fish, the poles, the wind, re-rigging had my hands full. Bunker chunking sounds nice, we need these blues to hit the road first though, have never seen them attack clams the way they did along with the size of them and stay around so long they will destroy the bunker.

Nice, my Saturday trip was cancelled last minute so I stayed in an watched my boys soccer game. On Sunday I went out solo at first light and picked up 5 bass to 26" on rubba. I then made a move over to the flats a threw poppers to the blues. Back in port by 8 AM. Lots of mid sized spearing around
