I usually don't get my tags until sometime in late February or March. It says to send in tag log within two weeks of 31 December, that means you would OK sending it in around 14 January. It seems a lot of people think the log has to be in by the second week of December instead of the second week of January. I guess they could have worded it better

Canyon Caster,
I received mine in less than two weeks of sending it in (middle of Dec.). Did you include a stamped self addressed envelope?

canyon caster,

Maybe with the new striper regulations going into effect this spring, I dont think you will be getting your tag cards. Jersey will be on a 2 striper limit of 28+. We lost the slot fish and the tag program. Hope this helps.

Just got off the phone with Fish and Wildlife.

The person I was talking to had the new bonus tags on their desk for 2004. They won't be sending them out until the usual time in February.

As of today there were no changes in the striper regs for this year.

They said they have had a lot of rumors going around but no changes and they will be sending the tags out on time.

If you send in your log sheet then you don't need to send in a SASE.

Another plus to the log sheet is that you will be first on the list to get your new tags.

Anyone who just sends in a new application with a SASE will be next in line after us.

The state appreciates the fisherman who send in their logs. They only get a small fraction of them back. Many of us just don't remember that it is in everyones best interest to send them in.

The state uses money to print and record the tags. If it looks to the powers that be that it is a waste of time and money because we don't fill in the tags or keep the log then it could end. :(
