A Pilgram in the Promise Land
Gary what a fun article to read in this months ASA Angler magazine. It sounds like you, Mike and Terry had a blast. I would absolutley love to do that same exact trip some day real soon. (Hey Guns and Rips hint hint) Thanks so much for sharing such a fun, refreshing and educational read. I want more just like it ;)

Rodfather,
Every really serious striped bass fisherman should make the pilgramage at least once. It's mandatory. I waited a long time, but it was worth the wait. It is every bit as wonderful to experience the history of the place as it is to fish there. The scenery is remarkable and...well what can I say...it's truly the holy land where bassmen go to worship.
If all goes well, I plan to go back again this fall.

Trust me when I tell ya carying his "gear" is a 3 man job...LOL!
Gary, I'm not sure what you've been up to recently but you've been awful quiet. That tells me you are either up to no good or catching fish ;)

Hi Ron,
Been a little of both. Traveling for work and to fish. Up to no good. Not much difference really.
Was in Florida over the weekend co-hosting the SWS National Seminar there with Mr. Poveromo. Had 850 folks in an auditorium that holds 850 folks. Guess that's a sell out. I moderated half the panels and had a real enjoyable time doing it. Went sailfishing on Sunday. Caught two and got chewed up regular by kingfish. All you can say when you catch a king on a $5 googleye is "ouch."
