First off let me say you guy who make and paint those plugs are top notch. No to my question hopefuly one of you guys can help me with.
I make all of my own rods and sell a few here and there I would like to airbrush acouple and have some blended colors but I am having a bit of a hard time getting it right. I was hoping you guys might be able to give me a hand. as far as airbrush guns go I bought a cheap 30$ gun with a nozzel of 0.35 as far as paint goes I can use any autobody paint used on fiberglass bumpers etc. My real question is is my spray tip big enough or too big I find that I seem to be wasting quite a bit for what I am getting on the blank. 2nd I would assume it would be benificial to have the blank horizontal rather than vertical. Should I put in a rod turner and have it rotate while I apply paint? any help wouold be appreciated. By the way Looking to make my 1st Surf pole I would like to go graphite 12'6'' Not looking to spend a ton on the blank any sugesstions I fish mainly out of Cape May. Thnaks greg

Look at the Iwata BCS dual action airbrush. Try the Createx Auto Air paints.
My plugs are painted in the horizontal and then hung. The paints sets up quickly in this applications.
If your brush is single action you will be putting out alot of overspray!
