Got out with Rich K. of PlugCaster Lures yesterday and we were throwing some of his prototype 9" pencils...we found one that was just unbelievable. Had all the variables, good size, cast well, and threw a lot of water on the retrieve. The color, a chartruse sparkle was also very good, he is going to mass produce some and maybe have some of his big pencils ready for Asbury. They should be very good.
I also got some big pencils (prototypes) today from Don @AH...again 9"...3.6 oz. Will test them tomorrow weather permitting. The paint job is lights out as usual.

The lure presents a deep-bodied profile in the water, floats, but gets down in a heavy chop due to density of the plastic composition. It rattles, dives, and wiggles its butt like my excited puppy! The plug is 5 ½ incles long and weighs just a little under 3.5 ounces. This is a unique plug that you can launch!
DJ,
Did you get a chance to test them out ?
Thx.
Steve

DJ...yes Ron has them but not the big ones. I think he said he will have some ready for AP. Get some.
Steve...Yeah man wow! Yeah I swam it almost 1 1/2 years ago, I haven't see it since when Rich, me and Alberto swam it from a LI jetty. It swam pretty darn good. Al had a big hand in it so you know it has to be good. I know it was made with big fish and hard water in mind.

Yea, the weight of it really tells me that it digs very deep in rough water.
I might pick one up and check it out...
Thanks Again,,,,

Steve...it was made for inlet type water and originally simulating blackfish or bergals...it has been so long I forgot about it. I'm not a big darter thrower except when fishin Montauk.
Have you ever seen Rich's prototype ML swimmer??? Now that thing is hot, I have been pushing him to produce it but he is so dang particular. If you see him, ask him about it...he may have it with him.

NS...do you know Big Rock?? I had him working on a huge darter too that I think he finished and was trying to get to me...8" long...and I forgot the weight, I want to give it to Alberto as a gift...you know something nice that he would get some use out of. He tested it and worked on it in the Delaware currents, a good place to test hard pulling water. When I get that dog I will post a picture for you.
