Hey guys,
We headed out this morning with an open boat group with Leon, Chris, Terry, and Steve aboard. The morning forecast of 5 to 10 Westerly was a bit off after some wicked thunderstorms that produced heavy rain and hail pushed through. We departed the marina and got set up for the day's fishing. It took a couple wiggles to find cooperative fish, but when we did the action was good and the guys put a bunch of drum to 40lbs. on deck, in addition to several 30" to 38" stripers. Great job, guys!
In the afternoon, we headed out with Chris Field's private group with Chris, Dean, Mark, JR, and Paco. Fishing was...in short...OUTSTANDING! We got set up at 3pm and by 4pm had our five man plus captain's limit of stripers in the box with every fish in the 34" to 41"/25lb. range. We had three or four fish right around 25lbs., and most others were 18lb. to 20lb. fish. We spent the rest of the afternoon releasing stripers of the same size, and the guys also boated eight drum to 30lbs., as well! Great job, guys! Can't wait to do it again.
