I've seen some info about Ocean Brown Trout which can be caught in the inlet in Jan and Feb. Does anyone have any info on how to catch em and where? What size do they run? What's the best time to catch them? Is the Wall in Point Pl. a good place to try?

Try the Manasquan Inlet and where Toms River empties into the bay. Browns have been known to enter the salt there. I don't know how you'd target them, though. I'd rather fish for something else and then randomly catch some trout in the salt, and then fish for the trout in the river.

they tend to follow boats that have just emptied their heads. some like to stay topwater, others run deep. can, in some cases, be mistaken for peanut bunker or corncob mullet.

Thanks Nightstrikes,
That web site has all of the info that I needed. It's not very promising yet. I have heard of catches recently on small 2 inch lures. I've also heard that the herring are in the river. I can't confrim either reports. Maybe I can get there this weekend and give it a try if we don't get another foot of snow.
If there's a lurker out there that knows how/where to target them I can really use some directions.
My thanks to all who responded. Once again TheBassBarn has the info.
