Stripers Forever is focused 100% on gamefish status for striped bass, but
occasionally something like this comes along that we think will be of
great interest and importance that is a little aside from our main
mission. Stripers Forever will be writing a letter of concern. For your
information and action:

Received from Denis P. Casey
I am a Md. member but wanted to alert your organization to the proposal of
UEK Corporation of Annapolis, MD., and UEK-Delaware Limited Partnership to
place a series of bi-directional hydroturbines suspended in one of the
prime striped bass habitats on the MidAtlantic, Indian River Inlet,
Delaware, to generate electricity. We fear this will ruin a tremendous
natural recreational resource. A public hearing is scheduled for 7pm on
Wed., Feb. 18 at Lord Baltimore Elementary School, Route 26, Ocean View,
Delaware. Please acknowledge and advise if more information is needed.

You beat me to it Willie, I was going to post said same info. I really hope they don't build that power plant . But the almighty $$$$ is in play here. I hope there are enough people there at the hearing for said plant. Let me refrase I hope there are enough fisherman at the hearing as well as fish related buisness's.
