Well, based on the forecast and this mornings horrible weather, Charlie Istak and his Boeing buddies had to cancel todays trip. I don't blame them it was honking and pouring here early this morning. Silly weather-guessers posted a small craft advisory for this afternoon, calling for winds of 20 with gusts to 30. Didn't look so bad around lunch time so I headed to the ramp. Here's your 3 to 5 footers at the mouth of the Elk:

Slick calm, sun shining and an easy cruise past Turkey Point Lighthouse. As soon as I rounded the point, saw a couple guys actively fishing, slowed down and check the fishfinder...looks good. One cast with a 7 inch Limetruese Bass Assassin and I'm tight to a 15 pounder:

drifted around some and switched over to a 7 inch Chartruese B/A on a 1/2 ounce jighead which produce a real nice one pushing 30 pounds. Nothing like screaming drag, bent rod, splashing tail and headshaking fury from a Big ole' striper with a hook stuck in it! I was trying to figure out how to get a shot of her, freeing her from the hook with one hand and aiming the camera with another, here's what I got out of it:

Had a little more fun with some smaller fish before an incoming storm chased me back to the ramp. Sorry Charlie, you and your buddies missed a nice bite this afternoon. One of these days we're gonna get you on a whopper. The fish are there and in the mood to bite guys. If you see a weather window don't pass it up.
