They have been hammering them in the morgan area for the past week with 40 to 50 shorts and some keepers, Clams are the ticket. I would just find shallow water and chum or chunk clam parts fishing the belly and hang on.:)

Have a friend that fishes there everyday. He has gotten stripers everyday for about a month now. South side of the bay. Monmouth, union, keansburg, etc. Starting to pickem up over on the SI side as well. All on artificials but nothing big. Lots of schoolies. Mid may is when they will start to get bigger over there. The big chompers blues in the 12-18# class are there towards the end of may and then start to gradually get smaller as you get into june(fun on the fly)

On artificials or on bait? I have always found that area to be very much a bait fishery.

Easy buddy, this is a evening bite. The nights are still pretty cold. It takes all day for the bay to warm up and maybe you can scare a few up in the evening. How far are you driving? The real bite is still a little time away, yesterday the bay was 43 degrees. This morning the air temp was 37. Don't let the "I heard" and the comms fool you, you don't have to drop everything yet. But, you can't catch anything if you don't go.

Way to go, leave a few hungry for me next week. I think a few more degrees in water temp, and livelineing is gonna turn on. I can't wait.

All the reports I have heard and seen, the bite had been on clams.. A couple of fish have been in the 20 lbs class.. the bunker are in the back bay.. a few nice weather days and the action will really begin, bigger fish too. HAve to what happens after this northeaster blows thru and all the rain to follow..

Alright, a guy in my area. I just wanted to know if you were coming into RB from like 2hrs. away. This makes a difference when I give you a report. I guess I'll see you at PB or Cliffwood untill the water warms up a bit.
