When we were out jigging for herring tonight the wife and I caught four stripers under 5" . How old do you guys think those fish are? They sure had a lot of fire in them.

about 3 0r 4 years ago while fishing bloods in my local river, many 4 to 5 inch babies [stripers] were caught, the following years they got a little bigger each year, this year many in the 16 to 18 inch range,my thinking these are the same fish from that time,my guess on your little guys is they are last years spawn:confused:

Yup, born in the summer of '06. I catch those little dudes in the back creeks all the time. ;) They stay in their natal creeks for a few years, and then migrate out into the main bays.

I catch them every once in a while while cat fishing in the creek. Also had one on a sabiki last year.
