Hey guys!
Mother NOAA has had a field day with incorrect weather reports the last couple of days! Wind forecasts of 5 - 10 knots the last two mornings when in reality yesterday it was blowing 20 to 25 most of the morning, and today a solid 15 - 20.
Anyway, yesterday morning, Mike Miller, Al, Mike Sr., Dale, and Earl were aboard. Earl utilized his tribal fish dance to bring the bass to the boat! Although not on fire, the guys fished hard in rough seas and a steady 20 knot and gusty Northeast winds. We had steady bites, with flurries of multiple hits. I'd say we had a good 20 bites, hooking 15 or so of them, unbuttoning 3, and boating 12 with 6 of them being keepers. 3 of our keepers were 30" range fish, and the other three were nice fish of 16lbs, 20lbs, and 23lbs! Thanks guys! In the afternoon, Bob, Bob, AJ, and Herb stepped aboard for their charter. We fished the same area as this morning, in addition to two others with just a couple of half hearted bites to show for it. Our final move of the evening paid off, with the guys getting on a short lived bite during which they boated several bass including a few keepers in the 30" range. Thanks fellas...way to fish hard!
Today, Chris Field stepped aboard for his charter with Mark, Rob, Dean, and Paco. Once again, we fished in near 20 knot Northeast winds, and the guys toughed it out in the snotty conditions. We marked some good pockets of fish at a spot short of where we've had them the last couple days. We anchored up and gave it a little while, but no takers. We made a move and anchored up close to where we've been fishing, with some decent piles of fish on the screen. The bite was sporadic, but we did get some action. During the hard part of the tide, the guys caught a bunch of schoolie bass to 26", and Chris had a nice 35" keeper. As the tide slacked, we hit a nice flurry of action with several more schoolies hitting the deck along with a couple more good keepers of 30" and 36". On the way in, we made a quick stop to see if we could get some blackfish...the bite was on just before the tide slacked. We boxed a bunch of quality toggies including a horse of about 10lbs taken by Rob...first tog, nice fish! :) It was fun guys! Enjoy the meat!
We'll be fishing every day, and have plenty of openings next week...please refer to our schedule in the open boat forum.
