Team Bluefin report
Fished with Capt George Valentini,Capt Steve Pagidas,Capt Victor Medina on the 30 FT Bluefin - Predator
Sat we left Twin lights marina in the Highlands at 5:30 am and headed towards Bahrs for a 6 am check out.
At 6 am Ken Wente President of the ASA gave us the green light and off we went.We all decided to take the ride to Deal & set up off the red church. We marked some fish & bait before the lines went in at 7 am.We took a few drifts but we caught nothing. We all decided to head back in the bay and drop the anchor in a spot that usually produces and start Chunking. We did not have any marks on the fish finder but we gave it a shot anyway.Capt Chris Gatley from Ardent Angler called me and said Art Capt Frank from Vitamin Sea Charters just boated a 47.2 lb Bass in a spot.We decided to make a move to where Capt Frank was fishing. At first we had a tough time with the Bass but we were bailing Bluefish. An hour goes by and finally I hook up with the 1st Bass. The only problem I lost the Bass at the boat. After that we had a nice steady pick of Bass and Capt Victor Medina landed a 21.65 Bass which was the Bass we weighed in for the 1st day.We all fished hard & had alot of laughs.Highlight of the 1st day was Capt Victor Medina took a chapter at of Mike Tysons Book http://njstriper.com/ubb/graemlins/spit.gif After we weighed in the Bass from day 1 we went to the fuel Dock and we fueled up for day 2.After we fueled up the fun started.Capt Victor Medina fillet our catch. And the rest of us cleaned the Bluefin man was the boat a mess.Sat night George took myself & Victor to dinner at Moby's and afterwards we headed back to Twin Lights and the 3 of us crashed.

Sun morning the 3 of us woke up at 3:45 am.Capt Victor & myself took the ride to get coffee at Dunkin Donuts. At 4:45 am we met up with Capt Steve and we pushed off at 4:45 am and went to Rumson to net Fresh Bunker. We filled up the ice tek and live well with Bunkies and went back to Bahrs for the check out.We went back to the same spot that we chunked the day before.Capt Frank from the Vitamin Sea was already anchored and his charter was bailing the Bass but we could not put lines in until 7 am.Which drove us all crazy. At 7 am all lines went in and we started catching some Bluefish. After that we had a nice pick of Bass.I boated a 25 lb Bass.We caught many other Bass but the bunker we netted earlier was starting to get soft so we pulled the anchor and went to net more bait which was a good move on our part because as soon as we set up again we started bailing them.At 2 pm the 25 lb Bass that I caught earlier was the Bass we weighed in for day 2 which gave us a total of 46.65 lbs.
Congrats to Capt Ken Zwirko,Capt Rich Swiss for placing 1st.
Congrats to the rest of the winners.
See everyone at Michaels in 2 weeks.
