Default In your perfect world, what are YOUR striper regs.?

Just read a post from NJ Angler Bill on what he thought might be a good change to the current regs. Which got me wondering what everone here thinks? Now for me, it seems the more you learn the more complicated it seems to be, for proper management. But after thinking about it, I really like Bills idea. One fish over 28 inches and one fish between 28-34inches. I think this could save alot of cows, and over a few years bring a better balance of fish. What are your thoughts?

I like a slot fish cull. one over and one between is a good mix, gotta agree with you Always, 2 stripers per man is enough for a few meals for everyone.

1@ 24" to 28" 1@30" to 38". Let the back bay guys have a better shot at taking 1 home and leaves some of the bigger fish in the DB.

I dig the intent, and the idea of a solid 6 inch bracket for the slot...but I'd the range to be more in the neighborhood of say 24-30? Simply to haul a fish home from the sod a little more often...but thats me.

This virtually would guarantee that all of those frustrating 26-27" fish we encounter in the back would magically morph to 23 1/2 by the time the ink of the reg change dried

I know the idea of a slot tends to invite arguments over every last fraction of an inch on both ends of a proposed size range...but I think a decent sized genuine slot alleviates much of that.

1 over 20" - EVERYONE gets a dinner for their gas money.

1 over 30-something so you can also keep the one really big fish of the day if you want.

A slot fish and a bonus system of some sort with data collecting cards/tags for trophy fish. I think they had it down really good with the slot and release slot a few years ago. The politicians running for really did a disservice when they overturned the regs.

    2 years ago wasn't it 1 from 24-27, nothing from 28-33, and 1 over 34?

I like Two fish.. 2-24" to 28"...One over 34"w/ Tag....This way a more accurate tally of reproductive fish is kept,,, and fewer breeding females are taken..

I like this as well for the purpose of getting a count on the number of big fish taken
