depends on where im fishing, but i usually have a couple poles strung up with different lines. i usually fish ponds with a lot of snags, so my go to line in these situations is def a heavy braid. while bass fishing last week with a wacky rigged senko, i hooked and managed to pull an old wood pallet buried in the mud. now if i am fishing very clear waters, i usually use vanish transition, so i dont spook the fish. what kind of waters are you usually fishing, and what are you targeting?

I have used Fireline since it first came out. Started using Power Pro last year and for some things it works great, some it doesn't. Seem to get wind knots a lot with it but it could just be me. If I had a choice Fireline would be on my reel for both fresh and salt. I always tie a florocarbon leader on them. I go through a lot of floro each year but go a few years with braided line on my reels. the floro leader is strictly psycological for me as I would probable catch the same # without it.

    Thumbs up Fluro/blended fluro line

I started two years ago w/ a switch to 15# Power Pro for freshwater applications. After a full year of trying my best, I gave-up the ghost. The hardest part for me was knot tying and loss of action & feel in my lure presentation.

This spring I took the advice of a co-worker & switched to P-line Fluroclear: economical & strong. I even stretched the $ a bit more & filled my reels 1/3rd w/ a matching mono diameter, uni-to-uni, then finish the spool w/ the Fluroclear. The feel is back and I've had a minimal amout of break-offs as a result.

I've been a staunch supporter of Berkely/Trilene brands for years, and was quite suprised by this P-line brand. My advice: Don't be afraid to try something different.

ive been using power pro for fresh water for the past 5 or 6 years and aside from ultra light for trout and crappies, i havent found anything i couldnt do with it. And as far as abrasion resistance we have yanked some truly huge carp and catfish out of some god awfull snags that mono would not stand a chance in.
