Question Delco Voyager Deep Cycle Battery

I used to see these batteries at K-Mart but since they joined with Sears, they only carry the DieHard brands. I really like the "maintenance free" feature of these batteries, and usually get at least 3 years out of them. Does anyone know where they can be purchased in South Jersey?

Try any GM dealer. The parts dept can order them for you.

Thats interesting and logical to know.. I've tried the Delco web site for a dealer and I think the closest I got was up near Cherry Hill. Yes, ordering marine batts thru a GM dealer you are garranteed fresh batts. It's not like they have them sitting around.

I still say they are the best battery on the water. I've gotten over 7yrs out of them under brutal use in the minnow biz. Running a 20 amp 3700gph pump running them flat and they just kept coming back for more..

If you are down here try Gentilini Ford.. They just started selling Cheby's.. I'm going to try them..

    Default Thanks

Thanks guys. I had already thought of that as a last resort and I was able to get a quote from the parts department at Burke Chevrolet. However, the size 30 batteries that I am looking for have been discontinued by Delco and the 27's don't quite give me the reserve time I'm looking for. So, I've decided to go with Deka as I've had good luck with their starting batteries. Not maintenance free like Delco, but low maintenance. Plus, I've got to get into the engine room after each trip anyway to check fluids, etc. so what's one more thing on my "to do" list.

I agree. I have a M27MF that has been in my boat for 8+ years running my trolling motor, lights and electronics. For for the last two years it has been starting my 40HP evinrude. It has not left me stuck yet. It is always on the charger when the boat is not being used.

Simply the best friggin' batteries ever made.
I have a 1991 27 series that still holds a charge and I use it for freshwater fishing.
I replace the 27 series in my Kencraft every 5 years to be safe but I know it will go longer.
My boat is a single battery setup and I run a gps depthfinder and vhf all day when I fish and never a problem.
I bought my last one through my neighbor who is a Chevy mechanic.

Are the Delco's better than the Interstates HD?

Innerstates suck I had several 8-D's on the old boat and they never lasted more than 1 season they finaly stopped taking them back after a few times. Changed to Delcos and never had a problem in 4 years.

Interstates are good weights to use to keep plywood from slidin' out of the back of your truck.
As batteries, they are the most short-lived POS of anything I have ever owned.

I can't say I've had bad service from Interstates. They live thru their warranty, but after that I don't trust them much farther. I am going to get serious about finding Delco's the next time around.

Kmart use to sell Delco's untill Penski bought out Kmart. Then they went to Champions, after that I quit watching what they sell.

That's a great tip about ordering them thru a GM dealer..

I bought my current ACDelco from a Kmart. That is how long it has been in service.

I have heard that They changed the design of the M27MF and that they now have removable caps. I have not been able to verify that until now.

I hope they are just as good.
